Writer – Judith Lutz

Born and bred in the lush and idyllic Garden State, Judith Lutz was a kid poet and high-school journalist before starting her writing career as a playwright with productions at the Alliance Repertory Theater’s One Act Festival, and The Ensemble Studio Theater’s One Act Festival in Los Angeles. Soon after, in partnership with Robert Greenwald Productions, she wrote a psychological-drama for ABC and two more features, both subsequently optioned for film.

Her comedy-mystery script The Pregnant Detective is in pre-production at Hot Flash Films. The indie film will be directed by Fay Hauser-Price. It is a pilot for the series Miranda’s Rights.

Judith developed a pilot for a one-hour television drama in 2008 with Tartikoff/Ebersole Productions. In 2009 she was named a Finalist for the Red Planet Prize, and her pilot Flesh and Blood made the 2010 TV Pilot Blacklist. Her latest pilot, Spin, is currently being shopped.

From 2004-2007 Judith wrote/post-produced twelve episodes of the weekly Food Network documentary, The Secret Life Of… , a light-hearted take on the history of food. Previously, she wrote and produced works for a wide range of multimedia venues, including Universal Studios Japan and Walt Disney Imagineering. She wrote and developed a large format IMAX-type film for an international theme park, and a Cine Eagle Award-winning educational movie, School Heroes, for Disney Educational Productions.

Judith holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University. She is a screenwriting graduate of The American Film Institute, and is a member of the Writers Guild of America, west.
